Bud vase #38, green celadon with natural ash glaze
A bud vase with a very special and rare pattern. During firing, flying ash and the moving flames have affected a circular area, forming a vibrant and colourful shape onto the surface. The piece is glazed with a green celadon glaze, over which the yellow and orange shapes form a striking contrast.
Perfectly happy as a piece of decoration on its own, and also ideal for accommodating a single small flower or plant.
This vase is carefully handcrafted and brought to life in a traditional wood-fired anagama-kiln, undergoing several days of continuous firing. This method, in which intense live flames and flying ash are in direct contact with the ceramic works, results in each piece becoming truly one of a kind.
