Teapot #2, natural ash glaze

€160.00

A side-handled teapot (kyūsu) with natural ash glaze. The inside of the pot is lined with a glossy glaze to ensure it is easy to clean. A fine-meshed ceramic strainer keeps tea leaves from coming out when pouring.

The size is fitting for three to four small cups of tea.

Note that the very tip of the nozzle has slight funkiness going on as it has twisted clockwise a little bit during firing.

This cup is carefully handcrafted and brought to life in a traditional wood-fired anagama-kiln, undergoing several days of continuous firing. This method, in which intense live flames and flying ash are in direct contact with the ceramic works, results in each piece becoming truly one of a kind.

Height 12 cm
Width & d
epth 16 × 14 cm with handle and spout
Volume 4,5 dl
Weight 507 g

Food safe. Washing by hand is recommended.
